LMNA's Local Research ContestIn 2022 the LMNA is helping document the biodiversity at Camp Hardtner to assist in adding it to the Registry of Protected Areas. Our thanks to all participants! The LMNA board is offering a prize to the member who documents the most observations at Reaseach Grade.
Participation therefore takes two forms, i) the uploading of photos and sound-tracks of species and ii) confirming the identification of other participants' observations. The winner will be the participant with the most research grade observations noted at noon on the following Sunday. The global community is counting on citizen science to help with researching local ecology to help us see a wholer picture of the state of life on Earth over time and help answer the many questions that arise and to help formulate and direct further questions.
The iNaturalist digital research platform is a useful tool for recording and sharing local data that brings together the power of diverse technologies and strategic partners and supporters. Over time it can become an important personal journal of observations and aid to experiential learning too. It also serves to provide future visitors to Hardtner with a portable map to the area's biodiversity and an opportunity to add to it! How cool is that? Very! The Prize is a highly collectible Rendezvous T-Shirt! |
