Background History

Central Louisiana Master Naturalists was founded in 2014 by Sonny and Betsy Trammel and Marty Floyd. Classes began in 2017 and the group has held over 40 workshops!

Marty's father read these to him as a very young boy and they had a wonderful formative influence upon him as a naturalist!

  •  The National Hunting and Fishing Day will be held September 25th this year. The Rapides Wildlife Association and CenLa MN share a booth with kids making pinecone bird feeders. The Woodworth event is the largest in the state with more participation than Baton Rouge and Monroe combined. This a good way to earn voluntary service hours.
  • Sep/Oct  The NABA Butterfly Count will be at Alexandria/Catahoula Garden
Dec/Jan  The Christmas Bird Count  (Catahoula NWR/Cheneyville-Lecompte/Crowley/ Pine Prairie)
  • The LMNA Rendezvous 2022 will be held in CenLa at Camp Hardtner.
